Wear-Resistant Coatings
Engineered ceramic, tungsten carbide, and metal alloy coatings help protect high-wear parts from corrosion, abrasion, and demanding service conditions across industrial applications.
For Houston manufacturers, oilfield suppliers, wire mills, and port operations, Parkway-Kew Corporation delivers abrasion resistant coating services that help critical parts last longer under heat, friction, corrosion, and heavy load. From HVOF tungsten carbide to plasma spray ceramics and hardfacing alloys, our engineered coatings reduce changeouts, improve surface performance, and keep demanding Gulf Coast production moving.

Advanced hardfacing and coating technologies for industrial parts exposed to severe abrasion, corrosion, and wear.
Engineered ceramic, tungsten carbide, and metal alloy coatings help protect high-wear parts from corrosion, abrasion, and demanding service conditions across industrial applications.
High Velocity Oxygen Fuel coating builds dense, hard surfaces using alloy powders at extreme speed, improving wear and corrosion resistance on process parts.
Plasma sprayed ceramic coatings, including PK-1500 chrome oxide, support high-speed and high-slip wire drawing applications where wear resistance is critical.
Thermal spray metallizing uses practical alloys such as PK-400 to create quality surface finishes, especially for large wire and specialized hardsurfacing applications.
Submerged arc welding provides cost-effective hardsurfacing for wire drawing blocks, including PK-503 and virtually crack-free PK-200 options for steel blocks.
Fuse welding applies industry-standard alloys such as PK-920, PK-700, and PK-675 for wire drawing rings, offering a lower-cost alternative to solid ceramics.

We start by reviewing the component, substrate, wear pattern, operating environment, and dimensional requirements. For Houston oilfield, port, and manufacturing applications, this helps identify whether abrasion, corrosion, heat, or impact is driving premature part failure.

Founder
Eugene Walter Klein is the visionary founder of Parkway-Kew Corporation, establishing the company in 1952 after identifying an innovative solution to a pressing industrial challenge. As a welding supply salesman, Eugene was approached by a valued customer seeking help repairing worn machine parts and improving their wear resistance. Drawing on his expertise, he recommended a specialized hardfacing wear-resistant weld alloy, proved the concept by welding the first test piece in his own garage, and secured the company's landmark first order to rebuild 100 wire drawing blocks. His entrepreneurial spirit and deep technical knowledge laid the foundation for what would become the world leader in hardsurfaced wire drawing blocks and capstans, a legacy that has endured for over 70 years.

President
Eugene Edward Klein Sr. serves as President of Parkway-Kew Corporation, carrying forward the legacy established by his father, the company's founder. Under his leadership, Parkway-Kew has experienced remarkable growth, outgrowing four separate facilities before relocating to its current headquarters in North Brunswick, NJ in 1999. Eugene has been instrumental in driving the company's continuous technological innovation, from the introduction of HVOF coating for wire drawing blocks in 1989 to the development of the proprietary Restore & Grind process. A recognized industry authority, he has traveled throughout the country delivering presentations on wire drawing block maintenance, cementing the company's reputation as the world leader in precision metal coating and hardsurfacing solutions.

Latin America Sales and Marketing Director
MBA Ing. Antonio Ayala R. serves as Latin America Sales and Marketing Director for Parkway-Kew Corporation, bringing an exceptional combination of business acumen and industry expertise to the role. As CEO of AA Enterprise, he leads Parkway-Kew's regional outreach across Latin American markets, connecting industrial clients with the company's world-class precision metal coating and wear-resistant solutions. A distinguished figure in the wire industry, Antonio previously served as President of Wire Association International (WAI, Inc.), demonstrating his deep engagement with the global wire and cable sector. His bilingual capabilities, executive leadership experience, and extensive professional network make him an invaluable asset in expanding Parkway-Kew's reach and partnerships throughout Latin America.
Abrasion resistant coatings are engineered surface layers applied to metal components to reduce wear caused by friction, impact, corrosion, heat, or repeated contact. Parkway-Kew Corporation uses hardfacing, HVOF, plasma spray, thermal spray, and fuse welding methods with materials such as tungsten carbide, chrome oxide, ceramics, and metal alloys to extend component life in demanding industrial environments.
