Nitrocellulose (NC) lacquer is typically used for decorative wood finishing, furniture, and musical instruments due to its fast-drying, glossy appearance. This differs from the Nickel Chrome (NC) hardfacing coatings Parkway-Kew manufactures, which protect industrial components like wire drawing blocks and fracking plungers from mechanical wear.

NC coatings serve oil and gas operators rebuilding fracking plungers, wire mills hardsurfacing drawing blocks and capstans, shipping terminals coating trolley festoon wheels, and heavy industry rebuilding rope pulleys. Each application benefits from improved wear resistance, reduced downtime, and extended component life compared to uncoated or OEM parts.

Restore & Grind fills and blends only the worn drawline area of an NC-coated wire drawing block rather than requiring a full recoat. This allows 5-7 lower-cost repairs before full recoating is necessary, seamlessly matching the original coating profile and significantly reducing downtime and total maintenance cost.

Parkway-Kew applies NC (Nickel Chrome) coatings using multiple methods including HVOF spraying, which exceeds Mach 2 for dense, durable finishes, as well as fuse welding and submerged arc welding depending on the component and application. Each method is selected to match the specific wear, corrosion, and dimensional requirements of the part.
