HVOF coating uses high-velocity oxygen fuel to propel alloy powder at extremely high speeds onto a prepared substrate. The result is a hard, dense, virtually defect-free coating. Parkway-Kew Corporation uses HVOF for applications requiring improved wear and corrosion resistance, including wire drawing blocks and other high-performance process parts.

Plasma spray is often used when ceramic coatings are needed for wear resistance, high-speed operation, or demanding wire drawing conditions. Parkway-Kew Corporation’s plasma sprayed ceramic coated block method has proven cost effective for high-speed and high-slip ferrous wire drawing applications, especially small high-quality or plated wires requiring consistent surface performance.

Thermal spray metallizing can provide an excellent surface finish, particularly where practical performance and wire quality matter. Parkway-Kew Corporation uses PK-400 as a primary metallizing alloy because it is forgiving and can produce a high-quality surface for drawn wire. For very large wire, metallizing may be the only successful hardsurfacing option.

Rebuilding can be more cost effective when the original component structure remains usable and only the working surface is worn. Parkway-Kew Corporation rebuilds wire drawing blocks, crane wheels, wire rope pulleys, festoon wheels, and fracking plungers using appropriate coating, machining, and grinding processes to extend life and reduce replacement frequency.

The right coating depends on the component material, wear mechanism, corrosion exposure, temperature, geometry, and quality requirements. Parkway-Kew Corporation evaluates conditions such as abrasion, slippage, cracking concerns, surface finish needs, and expected service life before recommending options like PK-503, PK-200, PK-400, PK-730, PK-920, PK-1500, or other engineered coatings.

Yes. Parkway-Kew Corporation offers in-house CNC milling, CNC turning, manual turning, and large diameter grinding capabilities to complement coating services. Parts can be fabricated with coatings or without them, including solid tungsten carbide parts. Machining capabilities support components up to 72 inches in diameter, while grinding accommodates large cylindrical parts.

Parkway-Kew Corporation is available Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Project timing depends on the component type, inspection requirements, coating method, grinding needs, and whether fabrication or rebuilding is involved.
