Wear-Resistant Coatings
Ceramic, tungsten carbide, and metal alloy coatings help protect high-wear parts against corrosion, abrasion, and production damage using proven spray and hard surfacing technologies.
Extend component life, reduce production downtime, and improve resistance to wear and corrosion with Parkway-Kew Corporation’s industrial coating systems and assembly solutions. Since 1952, our team has helped wire mills, fracking operations, shipping terminals, and heavy industry solve demanding wear problems with proven hard surfacing, precision machining, and rebuilding capabilities.

Advanced coating, hard surfacing, machining, and rebuilding services for demanding industrial wear applications.
Ceramic, tungsten carbide, and metal alloy coatings help protect high-wear parts against corrosion, abrasion, and production damage using proven spray and hard surfacing technologies.
High Velocity Oxygen Fuel coating applies dense, hard, virtually defect-free surfaces that improve wear and corrosion resistance on wire drawing blocks and process parts.
Plasma sprayed ceramic coatings, including PK-1500 chrome oxide, support high-speed and high-slip ferrous wire drawing applications with outstanding wear resistance.
Thermal spray metallizing uses practical alloys such as PK-400 to deliver high-quality surface finishes, especially for very large wire drawing applications.
Submerged arc welding provides cost-effective hardsurfacing for wire drawing blocks, with alloy options selected for hardness, surface condition, and cracking requirements.
Full-service rebuilding and hardsurfacing restores wire drawing blocks, capstans, sheaves, tuner rolls, step cones, and guide devices for longer production life.
Parkway-Kew Corporation helps industrial teams get more value from critical wear parts by matching the right coating method, alloy, machining process, and rebuild strategy to the application. From wire drawing blocks and fracking plungers to crane components and pulleys, our solutions are engineered to reduce changeouts, improve durability, and support consistent production performance.

Founder
Eugene Walter Klein is the visionary founder of Parkway-Kew Corporation, establishing the company in 1952 after identifying an innovative solution to a pressing industrial challenge. As a welding supply salesman, Eugene was approached by a valued customer seeking help repairing worn machine parts and improving their wear resistance. Drawing on his expertise, he recommended a specialized hardfacing wear-resistant weld alloy, proved the concept by welding the first test piece in his own garage, and secured the company's landmark first order to rebuild 100 wire drawing blocks. His entrepreneurial spirit and deep technical knowledge laid the foundation for what would become the world leader in hardsurfaced wire drawing blocks and capstans, a legacy that has endured for over 70 years.

President
Eugene Edward Klein Sr. serves as President of Parkway-Kew Corporation, carrying forward the legacy established by his father, the company's founder. Under his leadership, Parkway-Kew has experienced remarkable growth, outgrowing four separate facilities before relocating to its current headquarters in North Brunswick, NJ in 1999. Eugene has been instrumental in driving the company's continuous technological innovation, from the introduction of HVOF coating for wire drawing blocks in 1989 to the development of the proprietary Restore & Grind process. A recognized industry authority, he has traveled throughout the country delivering presentations on wire drawing block maintenance, cementing the company's reputation as the world leader in precision metal coating and hardsurfacing solutions.

Latin America Sales and Marketing Director
MBA Ing. Antonio Ayala R. serves as Latin America Sales and Marketing Director for Parkway-Kew Corporation, bringing an exceptional combination of business acumen and industry expertise to the role. As CEO of AA Enterprise, he leads Parkway-Kew's regional outreach across Latin American markets, connecting industrial clients with the company's world-class precision metal coating and wear-resistant solutions. A distinguished figure in the wire industry, Antonio previously served as President of Wire Association International (WAI, Inc.), demonstrating his deep engagement with the global wire and cable sector. His bilingual capabilities, executive leadership experience, and extensive professional network make him an invaluable asset in expanding Parkway-Kew's reach and partnerships throughout Latin America.
A coating system is a selected combination of surface preparation, coating material, application method, and finishing process designed to protect a part in service. In industrial settings, coating systems may improve wear resistance, corrosion resistance, surface finish, or dimensional restoration. Parkway-Kew Corporation uses methods such as HVOF, plasma spray, metallizing, fuse welding, and submerged arc welding depending on the part and operating conditions.
