A container terminal is a wear-parts business. Ship-to-shore cranes, rubber-tyred gantries, rail-mounted gantries, straddle carriers, reach stackers — every rolling, lifting, spooling part is a wear part. Parkway-Kew rebuilds crane wheels and wire rope pulleys, and manufactures urethane festoon wheels for the cable and hose runs that keep the electrics on.
The chemistry is the same one we prove on wire drawing blocks — matched to the counter-face. Wheels are matched to the rail. Pulleys are matched to the rope. Festoon wheels are matched to the cable and hose.
