Fracking plungers see extreme wear — high-pressure abrasive slurries against a hardened surface, cycle after cycle. PK-62 nickel chrome is the industry-standard chemistry, and it is what Parkway-Kew rebuilds most worn plungers with. For severe-wear duty, the proprietary PK-730 chemistry adds tungsten carbide for a harder, longer-lasting surface.

When a plunger comes into the shop we run the standard engineering review: wear pattern, base metal, environment, expected service. Only then does the recommended chemistry — PK-62 or PK-730 — get committed to a quote.
