Plasma Spray

PK-1500 chrome oxide ceramic. Extreme hardness. Chemical inertness.

Plasma spray is our thermal spray process for ceramic wear surfaces. The primary chemistry is PK-1500 chrome oxide — a ceramic coating with extreme hardness, high chemical inertness, and excellent wear resistance in the applications where a metallic wear layer will not survive.

Because ceramic coatings behave differently from tungsten carbide or metal alloy layers, the parts we recommend plasma-sprayed ceramic on are the parts running against abrasive slurries, corrosive process chemistry, or aggressive wear counterfaces. Engineering guides that selection on every quote.

  • PK-1500 chrome oxide ceramic
  • Extreme surface hardness
  • Chemical inertness for aggressive process chemistries
  • Alternative to HVOF where a metallic binder is not acceptable
