The application Parkway-Kew was founded on.

Rebuilding worn wire drawing blocks is the reason Parkway-Kew exists. In 1952 the founder proved the first hardsurfacing repair in his own garage and shortly after delivered the first big order — 100 26-inch Vaughn wire drawing blocks for CF&I in Roebling, New Jersey.

In the years since, we have pioneered submerged-arc hardsurfacing for wire drawing (1950s), added metallizing (1980s), introduced the first HVOF coating for wire drawing (1989), and developed the proprietary Restore & Grind repair cycle. The wire drawing block is still the most demanding part we service — and the one we have refined the process on the longest.

Deep, clean hardfacing deposit under flux with PK-503 or PK-200 chemistry.

HVOF coating

PK-920 (and PK-675 / PK-700 / PK-750) sprayed at Mach 2 for a dense wear layer.

Restore & Grind

Selective repair of drawline wear — five to seven cycles before a full recoat.
