Parkway-Kew's high velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) process deposits tungsten carbide and metal alloy coatings at gun exit velocities over Mach 2. That speed produces a coating that is dense, well-bonded, and lower in porosity than lower-velocity thermal spray processes — the reason it has become the dominant choice for parts exposed to abrasive, adhesive, and erosive wear.
We introduced HVOF for wire drawing blocks in 1989 and have refined the alloy palette every year since. Our standard HVOF chemistries are PK-920, PK-675, PK-700, and PK-750. The recommendation is always tied to the wear pattern and base metal in front of us.
